Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an Interlocal Agreement for the cooperative purchase of goods and services with the City of Sugar Land (Chief of Police)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Sugar Land. The City has the general authority to access/use the contracts of other governmental agencies through participation in interagency cooperative purchasing programs. By participating in cooperative purchasing programs, the City maintains compliance with the state procurement laws while using vendors who have already been vetted through a government procurement process.
The City of League City is the host agency for the Gulf Coast Regional Information Dispatch (GRID), and in 2014, the City of League City had an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Sugar Land that was specific to the SunGard Public Sector. As a result, a new Interlocal purchasing Agreement between the City of League City and the City of Sugar Land is needed. Where the original Interlocal Agreement was specific to the GRID software, this Interlocal Agreement is requested for a cooperative purchase program that applies to city-wide services.
City Staff recommends approval of this Interlocal Agreement in order to broaden the City’s procurement options.
CONTRACT ORIGINATION:
The Interlocal Agreement has been approved by the City Attorney’s Office.
