Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of the construction contract to Matula & Matula Construction, Inc. for the construction of the Glen Cove Lift Station Improvements Project (WW1901D).

The purpose of this project is to enhance operability and safety of this site for the long-term future. The scope of this project consists of conversion of the existing dry/wet pit configuration to a standard submersible pump lift station configuration, install new pumps, piping, new controls and electrical system, and perform structural modifications to convert the dry pit station to a submersible station. Other improvements include new hatches, safety grates, new discharge piping and valves, coating of wet well, and other miscellaneous minor maintenance items.

Nine sealed bids for the project were received on June 7, 2022 (Bid No. 22-007). Bid analysis was based on A+B bidding, which factors time plus cost to determine the lowest equivalent bid. Matula & Matula Construction, Inc. submitted a base bit in the amount of $1,759,705.00 and 320 days for substantial completion. The engineering consultant’s recommendation of award and the bid tabulation are attached.
