Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year renewal agreement with Envirodyne Laboratories, Inc. for the City’s water and wastewater laboratory services in an amount not to exceed $82,260.95 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize an agreement with Envirodyne Laboratories, Inc. for the City’s water and wastewater laboratory services for a period of one (1) year from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $82,260.95 including a 3% escalation in accordance with the existing agreement, with the option to renew for one (1) additional one-year period.
On September 24, 2019 City Council approved a three-year agreement with Envirodyne Laboratories, Inc. ITB# 19-PW-022 for the period October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2022 in a total not to exceed amount of $239,595, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods. The following budget for FY2023 exercises the first renewal for an additional one-year period.
This service meets requirements for sampling and testing of the City’s wastewater treatment and water production facilities with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Samples are collected at various frequencies and locations throughout the City to ensure regulatory compliant drinking water and wastewater discharge quality.
Envirodyne Laboratories, Inc has agreed to the terms of this renewal and Staff’s recommendation is to renew the agreement with Envirodyne Laboratories, Inc. for the City’s water and wastewater laboratory services based on exemplary performance history and fair market pricing.
