Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year renewal agreement with Bound Tree Medical to purchase medical supplies for an amount not to exceed $150,000 (Fire Chief)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize a one-year agreement with Bound Tree Medical for the purchase of medical supplies for an amount not to exceed $150,000.00. Bound Tree Medical was awarded the bid for the purchase of medical supplies for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department on 09/11/2018, Resolution 2018-136, with a term of three years and two one-year renewal options. This will execute the second of the two one-year renewal options and includes no change in pricing.
Only two (2) proposals were received, which included Bound Tree Medical and Henry Schein. Henry Schein’s bid was not complete, thereby was disqualified. Bound Tree Medical was the only vendor to bid on all 254 items. The EMS department evaluated and scored the proposal utilizing the following matrix: Overview and Scope, Ability to supply all items requested, Cost of Items, Additional Costs including shipping, Utilization of Operative IQ, and required State and Federal certifications.
Bound Tree Medical has been the incumbent medical supplier and has an exceptional history with League City EMS.
The recommendation is to renew the contract to Bound Tree Medical which provides the best value to the city for medical supplies. The estimated annual expenditure for medical supplies is $150,000.
