Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year renewal agreement with Semper Striping, LLC for roadway markings on-call in an amount not to exceed $174,470 (Director of Public Works)

Background:

Approval of this resolution will authorize a one-year renewal agreement with Semper Striping, LLC for installation of roadway markings on-call from March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025 in an amount not to exceed $174,470 with one (1) additional one-year renewal option remaining.

On June 7, 2022 the City released ITB 22-036 Roadway Markings. During the opening on July 6, 2022, the City determined that there was an error in the cost sheet which resulted in only one company submitting a bid. On November 22, 2022, Council approved the rejection of all bids received for ITB 22-036 Roadway Markings.

The City released ITB# 23-011 Roadway Markings on December 6, 2022. Six sealed bids were received on January 10, 2023. Semper Striping was the lowest qualified bidder in the amount of $174,470, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods.

The previous contract value was $174,470 and the current FY24 Budget for this service is $150,000.

The quantities used in the bid form are just an estimate used to approximate the total work required. The work will be paid based on specific work orders and the unit prices for completion of work. The work orders will be developed throughout the year based on needs. Each individual work order may include multiple locations but will include a minimum of $5,000.00 worth of markings. Examples of proposed FY24-FY25 work orders would include, but not be limited to, the remarking of: Bay Area Blvd (FM518 South to Dead End); Walker Street (Texas Ave. to League City Pkwy); Hobbs Rd (League City Pkwy to Ervin); Calder Drive (FM518 to Link Rd); Landing Blvd (FM518 to League City Pkwy); and Meadow Pkwy (FM518 to Austin).
