Consider and take action to grant a variance to Chapter 90 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of League City allowing the Watershed Church to hang a banner across FM 518 advertising their community wide festival event being held on October 31, 2010 (Assistant City Manager, Public Works)
The Special Events Committee supports the variance pending approval from TxDOT.
Background:
The Watershed Church requests to hang a banner between Houston Avenue and Perkins Street, across FM 518 for the purpose of advertising its community wide festival event scheduled for October 31, 2010. If approved, the banner will be put up on Monday, October 18, 2010, and removed on Monday, November 1, 2010. The League City Police Department will be responsible for traffic control during the installation and removal of the banner. Approval to use the State right-of-way for this purpose has been forwarded to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The Special Events Committee has reviewed and recommends approval of this variance.
