Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a four-year renewal agreement with Davis Vision for vision benefits for a total of $193,536 (Director of HR and Civil Service)

Background:

Approval of this item will authorize an agreement with Davis Vision to provide vision insurance for employees over a four-year period for a total of $193,536, or $48,384 per year.

The current vision insurance agreement with Davis Vision expires on September 30, 2023.  HUB, League City’s benefits advisor, requested proposals from vision insurance vendors and received proposals from EyeMed, United Healthcare, VSP, and Davis Vision.  Each of the plans were very similar in the benefits provided while Davis Vision and VSP were the lowest costing plans.

Feedback was requested through the League City Police Officer’s Association and the League City employee committee regarding the options and the opinion of our current provider, Davis Vision.  The feedback provided indicated that our employees are happy with our current vision plan through Davis Vision and as this option was one of the lowest bids with no changes to the plan, it was decided to continue with Davis Vision.

CONTRACT ORIGINATION: Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office.
