Consider and take action on a resolution updating the schedule of fees pertaining to Planning related applications - Chapter 125 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of League City (Director of Planning)
Background:
Adoption of this resolution will update the schedule of fees pertaining to Planning related applications - Chapter 125 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of League City. The Fee Schedule was last reviewed and updated on July 12, 2016, with Resolution 2016-78.
On December 12, 2023, Staff presented the results of the revenue study to the Council. The findings of this study noted that the current fees in the Planning and Building Departments would need to be raised 4.5% to cover staff’s costs associated with development services projects. Staff is proposing an across the board 4.5% increase for planning related rates rounded to the nearest multiple of $25.
In addition to the 4.5% fee increase, staff is proposing to make the following changes:
• Add a fee for Buffer Yard Variance - $325 (average of one case per year).
• Increase the multiple review fee for a fourth submittal from $200 to $500.
• Increase public hearing notice fee from $65 to $250 to account for actual costs incurred by the City.
Staff is recommending the above fee structure changes to be effective as of April 1, 2024.
