Background:
Approval of this item will authorize a contract with/between the Election Officer of the County of Galveston, the County of Galveston and the City of League City for a General-Special Election on November 5, 2024, and a Runoff Election on December 14, 2024 if necessary.
Per Section 31.092 of the Texas Election Code "the county election officer may contract with the governing body of a political subdivision situated wholly or partly in the county served by the officer to perform election services in any one or more elections ordered by an authority of the political subdivision".
The City's participation in the 2022 General Election (November) was $139,655.92, with additional Runoff Election (December) costs at $75,546.91.
CONTRACT ORIGINATION: County of Galveston, approved by City Attorney.
