Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase from Chastang Ford for one 2024 Ford F-150 Police Responder 4x4 vehicle ($52,295) and with Mal Technologies Fleet ($17,037) for related emergency equipment and installation in an amount not to exceed $69,332 (Director of Public Works)

Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the purchase from Chastang Ford for one 2024 Ford F-150 Police Responder 4x4 vehicle and with Mal Technologies Fleet ($17,037) for related emergency equipment and installation in an amount not to exceed $69,332.

Unit 117, a 2017 Ford Explorer with 84,800 miles was involved in an accident on August 13, 2024. After a comprehensive inspection by the City’s insurance carrier, TML, this vehicle was deemed a total loss and payment will be disbursed to the City in an amount of $7,750.

Staff recommends procuring the replacement vehicle, a Ford F150 Responder 4x4, from Chastang Ford for $52,295 using GoodBuy contract 24 8F000 and emergency equipment and installation from Mal Technologies Fleet for $17,036.61 under BuyBoard contract 698-23. Other patrol equipment, such as the radio and Opticom will be reused. Ulitizing the Goodbuy and BuyBoard contracts ensures prompt delivery of a vehicle that recently became available from Chastang Ford’s inventory.

The total purchase cost for this unit and all related emergency equipment, including the $300 GoodBuy purchasing fee, will be $69,332 less the $7,750 insurance reimbursement for a total net cost of $61,582.

Funds are available from the $200,000 budgeted in FY2025 Capital Replacement Fund for emergency vehicle replacement.
