Background:

Approval of this item will support Texas Senate Bill 395, introduced for the 89th Texas Legislative Session. The bill amends Texas Local Government Code Chapter 140 by adding Section 140.014 related to the prohibition on guaranteed income programs. Texas House Bill 530 is the companion bill filed in the Texas House of Representatives.
