Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase of a 2025 Ford Police Interceptor Explorer from Chastang Ford for $49,650 and the purchase of related emergency equipment and installation services from Mal Technologies Fleet for $18,349, for a total amount not to exceed $67,999 (Director of Public Works)

Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the purchase from Chastang Ford for one 2025 Ford Police Interceptor Explorer ($49,650) and with Mal Technologies Fleet ($18,349) for related emergency equipment and installation in an amount not to exceed $67,999.

Unit 159, a 2019 Ford Interceptor Explorer with 79,617 miles was involved in an accident on December 04, 2024. After a comprehensive inspection by the City’s insurance carrier, TML, this vehicle was deemed a total loss and payment will be disbursed to the City in an amount of $10,750.

To ensure the best pricing and benefit to the city, quotes for the above vehicle was obtained from cooperative purchasing contract, state contract, and a local retail with the following results:

BuyBoard - $49,650 (including $400 fee)
GoodBuy - $50,450 (including $400 fee)
Retail - $51,050

Based on the results, staff recommends procuring the replacement vehicle, a 2025 Ford Police Interceptor Explorer, from Chastang Ford for $49,650 using BuyBoard Contract# 724-23 and emergency equipment and installation from Mal Technologies Fleet for $18,349 under BuyBoard contract 698-23. Other patrol equipment, such as the radio and Opticom will be reused.

The total purchase cost for this unit and all related emergency equipment, including the $400 BuyBoard purchasing fee, will be $67,999 less the $10,750 insurance reimbursement for a total net cost of $57,249.
