Background:
Approval of this item will authorize a professional services agreement with Mike Pietsch, P.E. Consulting Services, Inc. for the purpose of conducting a review of the City of League City’s Property Protection Class (PPC) for an upcoming ISO (Insurance Serveries Office) audit in an amount not to exceed $78,500.

Fire Departments are audited every three (3) to ten (10) years by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) through the Public Protection Classification Program (PPC). The last ISO audit for the City of League City was completed on December 19, 2016 and the new class 1 rating went into effect on September 1, 2017. Based on this timeline, the City is now overdue for a new ISO audit, making this review both timely and necessary to help preserve its current classification.

The ISO audit process consists of three phases:

Phase I ($39,000) includes one (1) site visit and the preparation of a Grading Summary for areas afforded fire hydrant protection within City of League City which outline recommended improvements throughout the community. Based on this grading summary, a list of suggested improvements will be developed which, if implemented, would improve or sustain the grading point total which establishes the ISO rating for the City of League City. Upon completion of Phase I, the City of League City will receive a in-depth report bearing a certified engineer’s stamped seal of approval.
