Consider and take action on a resolution rejecting all proposals received for Request for Proposal (RFP) 26-037 Fire Apparatus Preventive Maintenance and Repairs (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this item rejects the single proposal received in response to RFP 26-037 for fire apparatus preventive maintenance and repair services and authorizes the Purchasing Department to issue a new solicitation.
On June 12, 2026, the City received one proposal from Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists in response to RFP 26-037. After evaluation, staff determined that receiving only one proposal did not provide adequate competition to support the procurement process.
Staff will reissue the RFP to encourage broader vendor participation. At the conclusion of the new procurement process, staff will return to City Council with a recommendation for award of a contract for fire apparatus preventive maintenance and repair services.
