Background:
Approval of this item will authorize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Houston Field Division for reimbursement of costs associated with the purchase of a borescope kit for use in narcotics and other criminal investigations.
The DEA’s Houston Field Division will reimburse the League City for up to $10,000 for the purchase of a borescope kit under a memorandum of understanding. The funds may only be used for this purchase, are reimbursement-based, and will not be available at the start of the new fiscal year. Once acquired, the equipment will remain the property of the League City. A borescope is a visual inspection tool that uses a small camera and light to see inside confined or hidden spaces. The borescope will help investigators inspect concealed areas, reduce property damage, improve officer safety, and document evidence in narcotics and other criminal investigations.

CONTRACT ORIGINATION:
FUNDING
{x} If approved, funding in the amount of $10,000 will be available in Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Operating Supplies account #2250000-51250. Grant proceeds will post to Justice Assistance Grant revenue account #0100-48150 in the same amount to offset expenses.
