Staff requests approval on first and final reading.
Background:
Approval of this item will call a Special Election on November 3, 2026, to fill Council Position 3 for the remainder of the term ending in November 2028. A Runoff Election will be held on December 12, 2026, if necessary.
On August 4, 2026, Council Member Tom Crews filed to run for Mayor, creating a vacancy in Council Position 3. Council Member Crews will continue serving until his successor is elected and qualified.
