Title
Recognition of Service Awards (25-year and 30-year Employees) (Director of Human Resources and Civil Service)

Background:

During a luncheon on Tuesday, February 6, at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, a number of employees were recognized for their years of service to the City, ranging from 10- up to 30- years (5-year increments). These employees achieved these milestones in 2017. One-year and five-year service awardees should have received their certificates via their leadership in the last few weeks.

Seven employees have been with the City of League City for 25- and 30-years.

The following are not able to join us:

25-years: Barbara Funderburg (Library) and John Griffith (Police)

30-years: Gregory Morgan (Police) and Annalouise Titsworth (Library)

Ann sent her regrets but did share one of her favorite moments in her time with the City Library. She recalls when Total Quality Management was incorporated at the Library. ALL employees formed little groups in which everyone had the opportunity to suggest practical, and innovative changes to save money, time and effort.

In attendance:

25-years:

· Currently a Sergeant in our Criminal Investigations Division of the League City Police Department

· In 1992, he was interviewed by a local reporter who asked why he became a police officer -- The answer he gave then is the same one that has kept him in the profession. It’s also the same one that has kept him at League City: A desire to make the place he lives in a little bit nicer.

30-years:
Jody Hooks (Public Works - Administration):
· Joined the City in July 1987 as a crewman in the Wastewater Department.
· One memory on day one is remembering someone...
